There are some girls who are girl-crush worthy, and Zooey Deschanel easily falls in to this category for me. I think it’s a mix between her quirky character, impeccable retro-infused style and overall unique gorgeousness. Yes, that would be a crush.
Two of my favourite editorial shoots with her were from Nylon, October ’08 issue and Jane, July 2007.
There’s a certain quality about her that makes it difficult to place her in a certain era, as she could easily pass as a vintage pinup. Some other photos of her I adore, found in various places:
I’ve chosen to forgo any crazy party plans for tonight’s celebrations and instead stay in and have a quiet night with family. I must say, I’m sad to miss the opportunity to dress up and celebrate with friends, but I think this year calls for a more relaxed welcome, and I’m looking forward to that. There will be other nights for festivities, no doubt …
I’m still putting together my list of New Years Resolutions, and am looking forward to having a list of goals for myself. So far, most of them revolve around bicyclette and starting the business, which makes sense, seeing as 2010 promises to be a busy and exciting year for me.
I’ll share more details and some future plans and ideas as they surface, and would love feedback and input along the way, as per usual. But for now, I wish you a Happy New Year, and I’ll see you in 2010!
