Wildfox zodiac tees are HERE! I’ve been waiting not-so-patiently all week for these to arrive, so of course I had to take one for a test drive today. Verdict? Pretty sure it’s love. You can expect to see me in this tee a lot this summer. Oversized, semi-sheer perfection.
Wildfox is in this month’s copy of Nylon mag! I must admit, I don’t so much read magazines anymore as I scan over the text and look for images to add to my inspiration book, but I was extremely excited to see this little half-pager in the magazine, and also the feature they did online. Save your pennies, ladies! Wildfox will be available through bicyclette before you know it!
Which brings me to another exciting point: I believe I found an e-commerce solution! After talking to multiple people, asking lots of questions and doing a lot of research, the online store will be ready to go in to production as soon as I have the design down and can find someone to help me with the programming. Coding for web is not my forte! So if anyone has any experience/contacts, by all means, send them on my way.
Also, if you haven’t already, become a fan on Facebook! I just created a page today, and would love to share that with you, so click to become a fan…
I’m putting together a Wildfox order and taking personal requests for the “Nobody’s Perfect” Zodiac tees. Each one has a stylized horoscope sign on it, the signature Wildfox heart, and a cheeky tagline based on the traits for your particular sign. I’ve already got a Scorpio ordered for myself, and a few to tuck away for gifts, and I highly suggest you do the same!
E-mail me at paige@bicyclette.to, and specify what sign you want.
They’re one size fits most (for a perfectly oversized and slouchy, signature Wildfox fit) and 100% cotton.
Which sign are you?

Sagittarius | Blindly optimistic
Everyone knows how much I love Wildfox Couture, so when I stumbled across this today, it got me quite excited, as per usual. Major brand crush. The photo shoot, as always, is spot on: the theme, the styling, the models, right down to every detail. Make sure you read the accompanying captions, they’re perfect. I can’t wait to visit their booth in Vegas next week!
(P.S. How great is the floral wallpaper? If anyone ever comes across anything similar, please don’t hesitate to pass it on to me… I have great plans for a pattern such as this…)

First off, before we get down to Wednesday business (inspiration day!), I’d like to share my (partial) outfit of the day. For my first thesis creative, I designed a series of three inspiration focused t-shirts, shared here. After handing them in, I kind of forgot about them, until I got them back the other day. As you can imagine, I was excited to incorporate them into some outfits. So here you are, my first outing with the bicyclette tee, off to write an exam.

I know I’ve already done a brand spotlight on Wildfox Couture, but I had to do a follow-up when I saw their latest campaign for their Summer 2010 collection, this time as a source of inspiration.

It’s amazing. Like most other girls, I have a soft spot for Barbie, and with her 50th anniversary having passed this year, it seems like a perfect time to pay a little homage.
One of the things I always love about Wildfox is that they don’t take themselves too seriously, and this shoot is a perfect example. Notice how everything’s exaggerated a little and the characters are almost caricatures. I love the styling, and the modeling is executed so well. These girls have the broken doll look down to an art.

Also, check out their website here. They have a great little behind-the-scenes photo shoot video on their home page that makes me want to dress up and make my own video. Hmmm, extra-curricular project anyone?
Oh, the joys of being a girl!
Which Wildfox Barbie character is your favourite? Who do you relate most to?
I’ve begun a recent love affair with t-shirts. Oversized, paper-thin, soft, vintage-inspired, patterned, you name it! Is it just me, or have t-shirts gotten a recent makeover? Their versatility and comfort are the leading attributes that have made them a newfound staple in my wardrobe. And I’m not talking about American Apparel styles. The styles I covet have more going for them, whether it be shape, material or graphic treatment.
When I was at MAGIC (a seasonal clothing tradeshow in Las Vegas) last winter, I started to notice the beginnings of this trend, and it’s about time, in my opinion. The guys have always had the better tees, and frankly, it’s not fair. There’s just a very fine line between fashionable and frumpy when it comes to womens’ t-shirts, one that has finally been traversed.
I discovered Wildfox Couture this past summer while blog-hopping, and from their designs to their photoshoots to their blog to what their company stands for, I was impressed. Their mission statement, She is the Native Heart, she is all neon light, she is a love child. She is a Wildfox, gives you a good idea about the brand.
I immediately purchased the Roses Oversized Tee (florals have been another recent love of mine) online, and aside from the ridiculous unseen shipping and duty charges, I couldn’t be happier.

They’ve recently added a new batch of styles which I’m already coveting. My favourites are this series of sassy horoscope tees. They identify each sign’s silly personality, bad habit or annoying quirk. Take a look, I didn’t include all of them, but you can find your sign in their shop. I’m a Scorpio, and if it wasn’t for those previously mentioned shipping charges, I would have already ordered it by now. And maybe a few more… I’m picturing them with a pair of leggings and a blazer. Simple, easy, perfect.

LIBRA | I just can't decide

SCORPIO | Oh so secretive

PISCES | I live in a fantasy land

CANCER | I love to fall in love
I would highly recommend swinging by the site, as there are way more lust-worthy looks where this came from. Another favourite is their line of vampire-themed and fanged styles, a collection fittingly titled “Love Bites”.

FANGS ARE FANTASTIC

VAMPIRE LOVE
This is one line I’m definitely looking at bringing into bicyclette when it opens, as I think they fit perfectly into the style and aesthetic of my concept. And the fact that they aren’t easily found in Canada (at least I haven’t been able to…?) is great.
So what do we think? Are we liking the t-shirt trend and is this a line that you could see yourself wearing?
