The third instalment of the February lookbook, for your viewing pleasure. We’re loving layered petticoat-style skirts and of course the perfect-for-Valentine’s-Day Wildfox Care Bear Tee. And thank you again to Little Retreats for the cutout lips, which made for a lovely bouquet.

Wildfox has done it again, introducing their White Label for Spring ’11, which Kimberley Gordon describes as “a touch more hippy, pulling inspiration from Jane Birkin, but still incorporating the royal family with mostly sequined graphics, gold buttons, griffins, and Military, floor length dresses.” Remember the luxe printed and sequined sweaters from Fall ’10 that Wildfox did (here and here)? Think of this line as an extension of that style, more more detailing and more sophistication.

Pssst! One of Bicyclette’s favourite west coast bloggers, Taylor of Sterling Style, was spotted wearing the Wildfox Couture Tea Roses Tee from the shop, styling it with the ever-fantastic James Jeans and a little bit of glitz, in true Bicyclette fashion.

Today’s countdown outfit is a little more casual upon first glance, but as any true Bicyclette girl knows, it’s all in the details. Keeping with the theme of “street style meets fairy tale”, this outfit features a wardrobe staple, the Wildfox tee, with a touch of whimsy in the form of the draped, dove grey lace skirt. Top it off with a lace-mix scarf and our new obsession du jour, the Little Fille “Kelly” earmuffs.

Sneak peek from today’s shoot. Bicyclette is going retro, featuring one of the coveted Wildfox sweaters: Love Potion No. 9.

Special thanks to Shelby, Charlotte and Sarah- photo shoot team extraordinaire!

Shot by Kimberley Gordan (I Love Wildfox) of Wildfox Couture (another favourite line, as we all know), these behind the scenes shots from Odylyne‘s Fall Lookbook are what my dreams are made of: gentle light and flowing fabrics, natural backdrops and ethereal settings. The styling is simple and effective, capturing the decidedly vintage and bohemian mood of the line and leaving one word in my mind: beautiful.

After coming across these shots, I think you can expect more from Odylyne on the blog, as these have got me hooked, and I think the aesthetic is very closely aligned with that of Bicyclette.

They’re back! Wildfox has done it again and come out with a second style of their Zodiac tees, this time in tissue-thin black with gold foil. I’ll be ordering them for Bicyclette, but because I’ll only have one or two of each sign and last time they flew, I’m also taking pre-orders to ensure you get the style you want. E-mail me at paige(at)shopbicyclette.ca with any questions, and to reserve your tee!

What’s your sign?

A while ago, I wrote a blog post asking your opinion on three different Wildfox sweater styles, here. I ended up getting all three styles for Bicyclette: Baby Cheetah, Love Potion #9, and Queen of Hearts. The sweaters will be in the shop mid-September, but I thought I’d share some much better photos of the Love Potion #9 style, which is sequined, slouchy, and growing on me the more I look at it.

Based on everyone’s comments before, this was the least popular style, but I’m curious what your thoughts are now?

Another Wildfox shoot for Resort ’10: “USA”. I believe this collection consists primarily of reissues of their bestselling, classic styles. I think the blurb from their blog sums it up nicely:

“When you start to feel down about the weather or your location, just take a local tour bus ride or a road trip to LA. That’s what we did! When you are with beautiful, Australian “it” girl, Tiernan Cowling, and Mark the Cobrasnake, life is always a vacation; Especially now that Tiernan’s moved to California. We chased her down Hollywood BLVD, sprawled out across the stars, bought maps to the stars homes and filled bags with fake oscars. We ran to the top of the tour bus right before the driver left, the air felt great up there as we whizzed past In N Out burger and Chateau Marmont. We jumped off the bus at McDonalds and got soft serve ice cream, we fell even more in love with LA and each other.”

Curious if you’re drawn to photo shoots like this, which are more spur-of-the-moment and street style focused, or prefer more orchestrated and studio-oriented shoots? I suppose there’s a time and place for both …

New Wildfox Couture tees, just arrived! And more chalkboard fun …
