Wildfox never ceases to impress us with their creativity and imagination, and their new pre-fall collection, Magical Creatures, is no exception.

Magical Creatures is a story written for Wildfox by critically acclaimed author, Francesca Lia Block. Francesca has been an inspiration for Wildfox creators, Emily Faulstich and Kimberley Gordon, since before the birth of Wildfox in 2007.  Together Francesca, Emily and Kim have based a collection of dreamy T shirts on the story of 3 very different, magical girls who live in our favorite Wildfox cities – Ella, a fairy from Los Angeles, Cherie, a gypsy from Paris, and Dahlia, a witch from New York.  Francesca tells a story of these three girls and their important friendship, a metaphorical weaving of magic and mystery, beautiful clothes, and romantic back drops.

While we keep ourselves busy knocking down walls and painting at the shop, thought we would share a quick preview from the lookbook of Wildfox’s SS12 collection. So well styled and such eerily beautiful shots …

Last week Paige dedicated this blog post towards the new Wildfox Couture Swim Collection. For our viewing pleasure, Kim has added more photos from the fabulous cowboy theme lookbook to her blog, and we couldn’t help but spread the country love!

We can’t wait to have our first swimwear collection in the shop, and Wildfox seems like the perfect fit. What style are you most excited about?

Emma

Last week Emma and I went to peek at the new Wildfox Couture  Swim collection which will be launching for the Resort ’12 season, and it’s exactly what you would picture from the LA line. With retro silhouettes (high-waisted bikinis and tiny floral prints), a road trip/cowgirl theme (horse-printed one piece) and the usual fun prints, patterns and bright colours, Wildfox has found its way into our hearts once again.

They launched the collection in Miami this past week (how fitting), and Kim shared a few images from the lookbook on her blog. If you want to see more, swing by the shop and whisper the secret password (cowgirl), and we’ll give you one of the super cute mini lookbooks so you can swoon over the pieces and start planning your beach essentials. There’s even a story that goes along with the images, making it that much more covetable. We’re currently picking out our favourites and deciding what to buy for the shop, so I’d love a little insight, especially since this will be Bicyclette’s first swimwear line.

Ever since Kayla posted these images from the I Love Wildfox blog a little while ago, I’ve been meaning to try an outfit post done in that style, so when I received a few new pieces from LA brand Flying Tomato and local designer ScarfParty the other day, it seemed like the perfect excuse. It was a little bit of a challenge at first, since I don’t have a figure to work with I had to get creative with layout, and it’s really about finding the right pieces to create a story. But when I got it just right, I was hooked! It brings back fond memories of collaging, and it was fun to work with a mini-theme and create a character. I picture today’s girl biking to grab an Americano, sitting in a sunny park to enjoy a few chapters of Valley of the Dolls (a favourite read), and exploring the city with her Diana Mini. Oh wait, maybe that’s just what I want to be doing right now! Le sigh.

This denim romper from Flying Tomato might just be the perfect summer layering piece.

New ScarfParty circle scarf in a beautiful ivory lace. Love the scalloped edge.

Flying Tomato floral cardigan with crochet overlay. And a flower pin, an essential spring accessory.

One Teaspoon ivory lace bralette and a must-read.

Vintage purse, classic sunnies and the perfect pocket companion to document the day

This shoot has been floating around the blogs for a little while now, but I’m revisiting it now as I start to pull inspiration for our next lookbook shoot later this month. I’m pretty excited about this next one, as we get back into the groove after opening the shop and start embracing spring dressing full stop. Plus, we’re going to have two models, which is a Bicyclette first, and basically means double the outfits and double the fun!

This shoot was shot by Kimberley Gordon (of Wildfox Couture) for the SS’11 collection Irregular Choice, and is inspired by a day in the life of a Silver Lake girl, a shoot concept that I’ve always loved because of its “real” appeal. Silver Lake is a neighbourhood in LA, and I for one am loving the California girl appeal of this series, not to mention the as-always impeccable styling and retro quality about the images.

Now if only our Toronto weather would cooperate so that we can play our own game of dress up …

Hello Bicyclette lovelies! I would like to start off by introducing myself, my name is Kayla; pleasure to meet you! You will be seeing and hearing more from me in the coming weeks as I will be helping Paige out online (and offline) at the Bicyclette boutique. Today I bring you the daily inspiration fresh from the Wildfox blog. Like a real-life version of Polyvore, this quirky take on the classic “outfit post” is perfect for those of us who love to showcase our personal style, but hate the camera in our face. Expect to see current Bicyclette pieces featured like this on the blog very soon!

I’ve been busy working on the store and getting everything prepared for the store opening this Saturday, but I just booked the Fall collection of Wildfox White Label, so I wanted to share.

I’m currently in LA for a last minute, uber-quick buying trip, so follow me on Twitter for updates and photos.

I’m a sucker for previews, so when Lynsie posted this little sneak peek of a recent creative shoot she did on her blog, I was quite pleased. Even better? The fact that it features some of our favourite Bicyclette pieces. What’s not to love?
