Currently loving a rustic aesthetic with touches of soft, femininity, whether it’s an interior space, dreamy photography or an outfit accessorized just so.

Happy Sunday!

Often associated with cooler temperatures and a need to layer for warmth, this season we’ve been seeing a lot of lightweight sweaters in open knits that are perfect for throwing on during the transitional months and on those cool summer nights. Wildfox‘s White Label collection always offers a selection of airy styles, and the ‘Prairie Rose’ Lennon Sweater captured our sartorial hearts at first sight. With a slightly sheer, perfectly distressed and slouchy silhouette and an allover floral pattern, it’s become an easy favourite, ideal for layering over delicate slip dresses, lace shorts, and denim alike.

You know we don’t need an excuse to style outfits around pastels and florals, but with Easter Weekend upon us, this feels like as good a time as any to break out some of our favourite feminine pieces.

I can’t get over how beautiful these dreamy images are from Designlovefest. They make me want to dress up, twirl in tulle and sip champagne.

If you’re not already familiar with Designlovefest, I would highly recommend heading over there and getting lost in the pretty pictures, impeccable design, quirky feminine style and overall inspiration. It has quickly become a favourite daily read, and I think it would be safe to say that I have a bit of a girl crush on Bri.

Elle Fanning and Rodarte: such a great pairing, and the styling in these images is so perfect. Pretty with an edge.

After posting about Wildfox’s new summer lookbook yesterday, today we have images of new pieces that we’ve received in the shop as part of our first spring delivery. With a touch of pastel and a nod towards the wild west, we’ve fallen hard for the simple graphic tees and ethereal knits from the White Label collection.

A few favourites from thr Wildfox Summer ’12 lookbook, ‘Sirene’.

“We all wish we were part of a fairy tale, some magical creature in some great love story.
A little mermaid with pearls in her long pink hair gliding through the warm salty water, in love with some beautiful sailor who she sees on a ship, handsome brown eyes and a different world. Our lives are more similar to fairy tales than we think, and everywhere around us there is magic. White sand that glitters in the sun and gets stuck like diamonds to your skin, sugarcane fields under the clouds that taste sweet in the rain, running barefoot on the hot pavement to meet a boy in town, long days of summer where the moon comes out along with the sun.”

Seriously in love with the gorgeous new Scout & Catalogue lookbook, shot by Anabela and Geoff (of Fieldguided) and expertly styled with so many covet-worthy pieces from the new collection.

Chloe is our dreamer, and can often be found wearing feminine silhouettes with whimsical details. With a tendency towards soft palettes and anything adorned with lace, she doesn’t shy away from pretty pieces or anything fairy tale inspired.

Chloe is wearing a Champagne & Strawberry dress with gorgeous lace cutouts, and we’ve added a gold buckle belt in the same colour and a gold pearl and chain necklace to accent it. With a black suede bucket bag from Brave and black tights, we’ve dressed her in an outfit that can be worn now and easily transition into spring.

Indulging our love for pastels once again, Wildfox’s Spring collection for the White Label is cleverly named ‘Pony Tale’ and filled with airy knits, whimsical prints and a pale palette.

“… we might not be able to play with Barbies and Rainbow Brite, or create fantasy worlds in plastic castles on the floor, but we can do all those grown up things we dreamed of when we were little girls.

We can wear a lavender mini dress with flouncy sleeves and sparkling stars, we can kiss boys and run down the beach at night, we can fall asleep on the sofa with all our girlfriends watching 80′s movies, we can wear high heels and have wild adventures and, if we want, we can see the world.

The things we lose are not really lost, they shaped us growing up and still exist as fairy tales waiting to come true.”
