I’m really tired. Like, already took a nap and still exhausted tired. I think the month is catching up to me, and after studying for my one and only exam that I wrote this morning, my body and mind are demanding a hiatus. No such luck, unfortunately! I still have a few school assignments to wrap up by Friday and an ever-accumulating bicyclette to-do list.

So instead of challenging myself to put together a blog post that would require me to determine a theme, collect images and write captivating copy, I’ve decided to exercise my creativity, styling and design sensibility and give you a lovely, bicyclette inspired outfit. Polyvore, je t’aime.

I believe this outfit was subconsciously inspired by a little online shopping/social networking experience I had. I recently found my ideal brown wedges online here, courtesy of Farylrobin, only to discover that they didn’t ship to Canada. Of course. So I tried a little Twitter shout out:

This, ladies and gents, is a perfect of example of how social media can benefit both the customer and the business, and an example of exceptional customer service. I was honestly blown away. We’re still figuring out the details of the transaction, but it looks like I may get my wedges after all.

Now I just need the perfect cream lace dress and I’m ready to bring my outfit to life.

I wish I was wearing this right now. Soft neutrals, feminine shapes and subtle florals … welcome, summer.

So I’m done. Classes, projects, exams, you name it. Officially on Holidays for a few weeks. I’ve been enjoying the freedom, and also feeling a little lost. I think without the creative projects to work on, without the deadlines and outlines, I sometimes find it hard to steer myself into productivity. I’m also torn between allowing myself to completely relax, and focusing my energy on other, non-school related projects. Namely, bicyclette. As much as I love my moments of spontaneity, I also need structure. And to-do lists. Such a geek.

One of the things I’ve decided I’m going to start implementing into my daily schedule is creating and sharing a Polyvore set. I think it’s a good way to explore the fashion market (ie. online window shop), as well as spark that creative tendency that I need. And a good way to explore bicyclette‘s identity through styling. So you can expect a daily post in regards to that, at the least. And next week I’ll be back to regular posting and sticking to my daily post topics.

Here are a few of the Polyvore sets I created today, so enjoy these for now. I’ve decided that I’m drawn to the simpler sets, as they can tend to get quite chaotic otherwise.

I wish that Polyvore was my closet.

Curious … and I know that the majority of you tend to shy away from commenting, but I would love to know… what are your creative outlets? Where do you find inspiration when you feel lost?
