It’s no secret that Australian line Something Else is one of our favourites here at the shop (peek here), and of course we all love a good shopping party, so we’ve decided to bring the two together next week for an in-store event. All Something Else product will be 20% off, and we’ll have additional pieces available for that night only. We’re also going to have SS12 samples available, which includes one-of-a-kind pieces and items that aren’t available anywhere else. It doesn’t get much better than that! We’ll have samples on display from the FW12 collection to view as well, so you can have a look at what to expect next season, and even put a pre-order in, if you’re so inclined.

It’s the perfect opportunity to stock up on unique summer essentials, see all the new merchandise we have in store, and have a drink and a bite with us in-store. Invite your friends and spread the word! Details below, and on the event page.

As mentioned before, on Thursday we hosted a party at the shop to celebrate our one year anniversary and to launch the Bespoke SS12 capsule collection with a screening of the video. The evening was a huge success, and it was so much fun to celebrate with everyone that has been part of our world and made the past year such an amazing one. We feel so lucky to have such a supportive and inspiring community around us, and are so excited about everything we have accomplished and all that’s to come.

Special thanks to Michelle (PR girl extraordinaire), Nadege Patisserie (for supplying the sweet treats), Sian (party photographer), Kat (our lovely bartender), and my parents (transportation, planning, renovations, tech support, and so much more!).

Cheers to the year to come!

After many weeks of sharing sneak peeks and teasing everyone with what we’ve been working on, we finally celebrated our one year anniversary and the launch of our new in-house line, Bespoke, on Thursday. The line is meant to complement our mix of beloved local and international brands, and is inspired by the Bicyclette Girls with a nod to vintage silhouettes and current trends. We designed four dresses for SS12, one for each girl, as well as a line of scarves with custom prints and a tote bag.

To launch the line, we collaborated with Siana (our new favourite video production team with the best tagline ever: ‘magic making & make-believing’), to put together a short video to further introduce the Bicyclette Girls and provide a peek at the dresses.

With our party on Thursday (2 days away!) this week has been all about final details and seeing everything come together. There’s something so satisfying about checking items off a to-do list and being able to tie up loose ends, both literally and figuratively.

For those who missed it, this week marks our one year anniversary at the shop, which is a pretty exciting event for us, and the perfect reason to celebrate! If you’re in the Toronto area and not already signed up for our newsletter (you can do so here), we’d like to extend the invite to you, and would love to have you join us next week. The past year has been a crazy one, and we couldn’t have done it all without our amazing customers, so consider this a token of our appreciation. On top of that, this will be the night that we reveal Project 12.3.12 for the first time, and we definitely wouldn’t want you to miss that.

We do ask that you RSVP to the email on the invite, and look forward to seeing you there!

Ladies, it’s almost time to break out the sparkly dresses, pile on the jewellery and crack open that bottle of champagne!

We’ve always had a serious love affair with the bohemian stylings of Free People, and this capsule collection of limited edition party dresses has swept us away yet again. Each stunning dress was specially designed and hand-crafted by a different in-house designer, and we can’t help but daydream about how we would wear each one.

With Christmas a mere two months away, last night we gathered the dream team (Sian, Sarah, Emily, Danielle, Keri, Lauren and Christian), and began to shoot our Holiday Gift Guide. It’s our first time working on this kind of project, and we’re pretty excited to launch it. Here’s a few behind the scenes peeks. There were many glittery dresses, sparkling statement jewellery, and an overall celebratory atmosphere.

It’s been hard to keep this a secret over the past couple of weeks, but Bicyclette is teaming up with Renee from Eat.Live.Shop to host a DIY bracelet workshop. Join us for a fun night full of crafting, wine, yummy treats and in-store discounts! We have limited capacity for the event (and it’s been selling out fast), so get your tickets now.

Last week, Bicyclette did something a little different and hosted a Hamburger Princess Surprise Party at the shop for my good friend Nicole’s birthday. Nicole has a weak spot for burgers (hence the theme), so we thought it would be a fun surprise to decorate the shop diner style, featuring “fries” and mini cupcakes that looked pretty darn close to sliders and tasted delicious.

The whole event was so much fun to put together and such a success that I’m looking forward to hosting the next party, whatever that may be. So many options …
