After every lookbook shoot, I’m convinced that this one is my favourite, and yet each month we seem to outdo ourselves and I fall in love all over again. We are oh-so-lucky to have an amazing little team here at Bicyclette, and I’m always impressed by the creativity, imagination and sheer talent  of all involved. This shoot was so much fun to work on because of it’s lighthearted nature (dollhouses, tutus and candy-coloured wigs? Yes, please!), and I’m sure the two-bite brownies on set and Nicki Minaj on repeat didn’t hurt either. Not a bad way to spend a Wednesday evening, that’s for sure.

Last week we posted the inspiration, a peek at the props and accessories we were using, and some behind the scenes shots from the studio, and now we’re thrilled to share the lookbook in it’s entirety. Enjoy!

Last night we headed to the studio (complete with pink backdrop, of course) to shoot our May lookbook. As I mentioned before, the concept started with a thrifted dollhouse and it was so much fun to put together the shoot based on that idea and see it evolve to include pastel arm parties, DIY’d rosette and pearl sunglasses, a tutu, and flamingo prints, to name a few elements.

As I’m packing everything up for our shoot tonight, I thought I would share a little sneak peek at a few of the props and outfits we’ll be featuring. And don’t forget to follow us on Twitter or Instagram for a visual play-by-play.

We’re shooting our May lookbook tomorrow night, so I thought I would share a little bit of inspiration that I’ve gathered. The concept started with a dollhouse that I found at Value Village a few weeks ago that was begging for a fresh coat of paint, and has evolved to include candy-hued wigs, monochromatic pastels and black and white polka dots. Needless to say, we’re pretty excited about this one.

Pretty clothes, making music and dancing on the beach. Can you think of a better way to spend a morning?

Seriously in love with the gorgeous new Scout & Catalogue lookbook, shot by Anabela and Geoff (of Fieldguided) and expertly styled with so many covet-worthy pieces from the new collection.

I have a soft spot for both NYC and LA, both being cities that I travel to relatively frequently on buying trips, and I love how different they are from each other. Where NYC is fast paced, LA is laid back and it’s interesting to compare the differences in lifestyle and fashion. I like to think that Bicyclette draws inspiration from both (with a little Paris thrown into the mix), and caters to girls who would associate their personal style with both cities. Free People‘s new January catalogue captures the essence of each city spot on, and it’s fun to view the images side by side and dream up stories of both characters.

So the question is, are you an NYC or LA girl?

It’s about that time when we start getting excited for upcoming SS12 collections, and of course whenever possible, sharing the lookbooks with you. One of our favourite LA lines, For Love & Lemons (first introduced here) just released theirs, entitled ‘Day Tripper’, and inspired by 70′s rock muses and vintage thrillers.

“The Spring 2012 collection ‘Day Tripper’ is a story of a girl who’s traveling with a band, as rockstar’s muse. She is free-spirited, lovely, vulnerable and in love with the thrill. Documenting her time on the road through Polaroid pictures and concert ticket stubs, she will never forget the spring of romance, parties, and good times.”

Sounds pretty perfect, if you ask me.

Ladies, it’s almost time to break out the sparkly dresses, pile on the jewellery and crack open that bottle of champagne!
