If you’ve been following us for awhile, you know that at Bicyclette, we can’t resist a good arm party. There’s something about styling the perfect mix of bangles and bracelets that can make an outfit. Whether it’s mixed metals, bright colours, simple or statement-making, there are so many options and it’s always fun to play around with different combinations. With a delivery arriving next week that is full of bracelet options in every style and colour, we figured this was the perfect time to pull some inspiration for our summer arm parties.

STYLING SESSIONS . 04/20

We’re always trying to think of creative ways to wear our favourite pieces, giving us the opportunity to play with different styles and also justifying a purchase. So we decided to take one of our favourite layering pieces, the For Love & Lemons Matinee dress (first seen in our April lookbook), and style it three different ways. The great thing about this dress is that the silhouette is simple but the crochet trim gives it a special edge, and because it’s white, you can really use any colour palette when creating the look.

The four granddaughters of Jacques Courtin-Clarins, founder of the Clarins skincare company, these beauties have been popping up in the front tow at fashion week and on street-style blogs alike, flaunting their eclectic ensembles and proving that personal style is all about being unique and having fun with fashion. The two sets of sisters, often appearing as a group or in pairs, have a tendency towards bold pairings and bright colours, and do not shy away from a loud print or interestingly layered pieced. We love how they mix high-end with a downtown edge, and give current trends their own, individual spin.

Another exciting week in the deliveries department, with a huge order from Amsterdam line Maison Scotch that just arrived on our doorstep. Our favourite thing in the box? Neon lace bralettes and bandeaus, which are quite possibly the perfect summer accessory. Think layered under sheer blouses, peeking out under low cut necklines, and adding that perfect pop of colour to any ensemble.

With today’s weather teasing us with a taste of summer, Queen West feels alive again, and it’s hard to not be swept away by the excitement of spring dressing. Light layers, breezy silhouettes and bare legs were all in order as we styled today’s outfits, and our new Scout & Catalogue clutches were the perfect accessories to top it off.

If you follow us on Instagram, you’ll already know that this past week we received our first shipment from LA line Wkshp at the shop, and we’ve been swooning over it ever since. It’s one of the many new lines we’ll be bringing in this season, and we’re incredibly excited about the simple and soft silhouettes, and the bold, colourful graphics. With a great price point (the tees are generally $50-60) and a number of amazing options, we’ll be receiving the line monthly from now on, and are looking forward to styling it for you.

We’ve had a number of requests for more ‘Outfitted’ posts, so as we began to receive our Spring pieces (and trust me, February is going to be packed with new deliveries), we’ll be sharing as much as we can here on the blog. For today, here are a couple of the styles we received this week, plus a number of our current favourite accessories that are perfect for layering.

Now's the perfect time to get creative with transitional dressing, mixing Spring's pastels and bright with neutrals and layers

We love the graphic print on this tee and the textured mix of blues and greens offset by the white outline

A wool cowl is a great way to winterize an outfit, especially with a brooch or pin to liven it up

Pistachio hues are popping up on our nails, and on this La Raffinerie necklace, with golds and a bright blue bracelet from Lauren ELan

Add bright punches of pink and yellow to an otherwise black and grey palette

A hand-dyed silk scarf by Denj is such a great way to add colour, especially offset by gold baubles by Lauren Elan

Loving the ombre fade effect in this graphic print

MIA loafers are always a great way to finish off an outfit, and Butter London's 'Black Knight' adds that always-essential dash of sparkle

It’s no secret that we love our arm and neck candy at Bicyclette, and thanks to Lauren Elan Collections, we’re able to fulfill our sparkly desires on a regular basis.

We’re currently gravitating towards mixed metals that have a cross between the masculine and feminine, a hint of sparkle (no surprise there), and offer the option to be layered with as many or as few pieces as you choose.

“Sweater weather”… two of my favourite words to hear paired together. The opportunity to cozy up with chunky knits, layer different textures, and play with colour and pattern in a completely new way. Not to mention the many possibilities for mixing and matching, and how sweaters seem to work equally well with slouchy worn-in denim, your favourite delicate slip dress, or paired with a vintage tee. Between that and the fact that this shoot has a decidedly surf culture vibe and the arm candy is right up our alley, I fell in love with the aesthetic of these photos instantly.
