Today’s my birthday, so I’m playing hooky from the shop and my computer for most of the day (simple indulgences!), but wanted to leave you with a few images that have me inspired these days. It’s important to me to constantly gather visual inspiration (one of the reasons why I love Pinterest so much), and it’s nice to see it pieced together as part of a collection, a snapshot of a moment in time, where my head was at, and what my eye was drawn to.

When we came across Banter Banners we couldn’t wait to bring them into the shop! We no longer have to wait for a special occasion to hang up these energetic banners on our walls because Banter Banner is dedicated to celebrating the everyday. The are such a fun and easy way to add some positive and upbeat inspiration to a room without having to commit to an expensive piece if art. They are the perfect eye candy for any room. “Simple, strong, and stylish.”

Emily and I stumbled across a post on Glitter Guide the other day that led us to Oh So Lovely, and a photo challenge she posted to her readers a couple of months ago. Drawn to the idea of taking and sharing daily photos and feeling like we could use a little bit of a challenge ourselves, we thought this would be the perfect adventure to embark on for the month of October.
The idea is pretty simple: we’ve come up with a “theme” for each day of the month, leaving them fairly ambiguous and open to interpretation, and it is this that will inspire each daily photo. Emily and I will each be doing our own photo and posting them together every day, and we invite you to participate as well.
So, who’s in?
Detailed nails are more coveted than ever and with our recent shipment of Butter London, we’ve gone nail crazy once again at Bicyclette. Looking at fashion week for SS ’12 we saw pretty nails popping up all over the runway. ButterLondon founder Nomie Creme says we’ll be seeing a lot of sherbet colours next season, including a new pistachio green from Butter. Nails are such a fun and creative way to add that extra touch to an outfit during any season! We are thinking it may be a good idea to have a DIY Nail Night here at Bicyclette in the near future where we can experiment and play with new colours and designs.

It feels like just yesterday we were blasting the fan and handing out freezies here at Bicyclette but it’s true- Fall has officially arrived! And it’s my favourite season of all so I’ve collected some inspiring images to get everyone excited to pull out their favourite sweaters, get the boots on and order those Pumpkin Spiced Lattes! To all those holding onto summer and spiting me right now, hope these images start to get you in the mood for cool evenings and crunchy leaves.
