I think this may just be my favourite outfit yet. A cargo jacket with sequins, studs and distressed detailing paired with a satin pleated skirt that is so very ready for all your Holiday dressing needs. For a more feminine look, the skirt is accented with lace and tangled jewellery (a Bicyclette favourite), but I’m also thinking this would be perfect with a cropped chunky knit that would contrast beautifully with the satin.
With only two days left (!) until Gifted and Glam, and the recent addition of the Holiday Night Market as well, the studio is currently a flurry of activity as I transform and create a few new props and make sure everything is in order for the weekend.

I have some really exciting Bicyclette news to share. But I’m not quite ready yet, as everything was just confirmed. How’s that for a tease? Intrigued?
So instead, I’ll share some pretty photos that seriously inspired me today and that I’m working on replicating for my next display DIY. And they kind of tie in to the news. In a way.
From Free People, the glitter hangers and the glass embellished dresses, how perfect?

A slinky black sweater dress with gold beading is perfect paired with a velvet blazer and a fur scarf for a cozy ensemble. Loving the longer length and cap sleeves of the dress, which make the layering possibilities endless. The blazer is updated with a subtly crushed velvet finish, gorgeous long silhouette and ruched sleeves. A favourite of the season.

So I missed two days (it happens, busy!), but I’ll try to make it up with two extra outfits at the end of the week, especially since a new Motel shipment just arrived.
Today’s outfit focuses on separates again, offering that element of versatility and an opportunity to mix and match that I believe is key. The sweater is a piece that is easy, perfectly retro-inspired and glam all at once, and is equally fabulous paired with simple denim as it is dressed up. And the skirt? A classic mini with a twist, with the black studding and exposed front zipper. Ideal for slouchy tops and layering.

Everyone’s looking for the perfect party dress come the Holiday season, and Dolce Vita has hit it spot on with this purple and yellow ombre silk dress. The beauty of it? Versatility. Glam it up with gold-accented accessories, or layer it for a more casual ensemble. We love the black silhouette print (branches? veins?), and the peekaboo seams, not to mention the unexpected colour combination.

Upon finding out that the Holiday pieces that I ordered from Funktional for the shop should be arriving next week, I decided to take a look at what would be coming in, and then of course decided that you would want a peek as well.
Here you go, you’re welcome!
I’m in the midst of spray painting props for the shop, designing graphics and styling for tomorrow’s photo shoot, so while I carry on with that (and take photos to share later, of course!), I thought I would share a new collection that I’ll be bringing to Bicyclette.
One of the (many) things I’ve loved about blogging and using tools like Twitter and Facebook for Bicyclette, is the people I’ve met and been able to form relationships with, and the opportunities that have arisen through these.
Little Fille is one such example, a line of headbands I came across awhile ago and am oh-so-excited to be bringing to Bicyclette for the Holiday season. The lookbook is full of pieces that are equally perfect paired with a party dress as they are atop a cozy day ensemble. A little bit of embellishment, luxe fabrics and materials and simple styles. And the earmuffs! Definitely part of my personal order, it’s just a matter of choosing which one…
