We all know that Bicyclette and glitter go hand-in-hand, so when I came across these Peppercotton necklaces (worn as bracelets) I was immediately intrigued. Turns out they’re made of nylon mesh tube filled with tiny Swarovski crystals, resulting in glittery perfection. I see a DIY in our immediate future.

If you don’t already read the Glitter Guide, you really should. As the name suggests, it’s full of glittery goodness, not to mention inspiring articles and features, and a healthy dose of eye candy. I was thrilled to be asked to be part of their ‘Shop Talk’ feature, where I was interviewed about Bicyclette and had the chance to dress up for a shoot with Sian Melton within the shop. Though it’s always a little weird for me to be on the other side of the camera, the images are gorgeous and I couldn’t be happier to share the results, which offer a peek into the shop and some of our most glittery details.

Below are some of my favourite photos from the shoot, some of which appeared on the Glitter Guide and a few that haven’t been seen before. I’m thinking I’ll put them all in a Facebook album eventually, so make sure to take a peek soon if you want to see more.

This season seems to be the summer of nails, and it’s been fun experimenting with new colours and watching everyone get creative with DIY options. With the shop now carrying a wide array of Butter London, we’ve been eager to keep up, and between Emma and I, we probably showcase at least 6-8 different nail colours a week. When we came across Emily’s ‘Mermaid Nails‘ on Cupcakes and Cashmere, all of our dreams came true and we raced out to find the Martha Stewart glitter she used. Truth be told, we’d been looking for an excuse to purchase the superfine glitter, and this was the perfect one.

And so I share with you our version of the glitter tipped nails, in which we followed the instructions on Cupcakes and Cashmere, using a hot pink nail polish and adding bubblegum glitter to the tip of our ring finger only (one nail trend we’re loving right now). Needless to say, we’re pretty smitten, and I think our nails will be glitter adorned from now on.

It’s pretty evident I have a thing for tea cups, as they’re scattered throughout the shop and my collection is always growing, and I’ve also started to notice an increasing attraction to all things gold, especially in decor and displays. So it is with those two observations (and my obvious eternal love for all things glitter), that I share a couple of photos today that are a perfect representation of my current mood.

And last but not least, the final instalment of the photos from the April lookbook shoot, complete with glitter castle and glitter Bicyclette wordmark!

A few other things we’re working on this week include: an online shop update, implementing a weekly newsletter (more on that later!), putting out new product in the shop … just to name a few. Lot’s happening at the Bicyclette HQ!

In my video production class in my final year of school, each little team had to come up with a name for our “production company”. We chose Sparkle Magic, which is pretty indicative of how much I love anything with sparkle, glitter and the like, and why this slight obsession has carried over to Bicyclette. But surely you’ve realized that by now.

So without further ado, I present to you the final photos from our shoot: The Glitter Photos. This little impromptu shoot inspired a decision that every shoot we do from now on contains some sort of confetti-like prop. Suggestions welcome.

I know, Christmas is over, but this festive time of year is not, and there’s always more room for an inspirational photo shoot and glitter. This Kate Spade-inspired shoot, brought to life by Styled Creative, photographed by Alison Conklin, and featuring Dallas Shaw, is party perfection, and I’ve already got my notebook out, jotting down ideas for my next shoot.

So many creative styling ideas in this shoot, and I’m thinking I could totally replicate the illustrated tree idea with the chalkboard wall in the studio. And did we notice the glitter bike!?!? I’m adding a vintage bike to my must-find list, to be fully glittered upon arrival. So perfect for Bicyclette.
