Leopard and floral are definitely our two favourite prints of the year! We’ve decided to put them up against each other to see who comes out on top! We love our feminine and whimsical floral prints, especially when contrasted with dark leather or chunky accessories but we also love our leopard to add a fun punch to every outfit whether it’s a scarf for a day of shopping or a mini dress for a night out on the town. This may be a cruel and impossible decision for some to make but we want to know which is your favourite? Can you choose?

Having a bit of a love affair with floral docs paired with feminine dresses. Unexpected juxtapositions, my favourite.

And the final instalment of the June Lookbook, and quite possibly my favourite grouping of the bunch due to the lovely bicycles that we used (how fitting) and the feminine outfits. We have an abundance of printed pieces in the shop right now, ranging from traditional florals to stripes, from graphic prints to fun animal prints, from ethnic prints to heart prints, and we’re loving the fun and quirky styling options they lend themselves to.

A couple of weeks ago, we put together some pretty outfits and headed to Trinity Bellwoods Park (which is conveniently located just east of the shop) and shot the lovely Tiffany and Emily frolicking in the park. With a focus on bright colours, quirky prints and layering essentials, we couldn’t have asked for a more quintessentially summer lookbook for June.

Another busy week that’s flown by, but I figured it was about time for an outfit post, since it’s been a little while since we’ve styled a mannequin and shared it on the blog.

A floral maxi with a few select accessories might just be the perfect summer outfit

Natural tones and mixed metals offset the floral pattern

I have a bit of a love affair with floral headpieces this season, as evidenced by the flower crowns that have been adorning the shop displays since we opened, so when I was placing my order with Jordan from Sui Generis (more on that soon), I was pretty excited to see that she was offering hair pins and combs as part of her summer collection. Lovingly handcrafted with vintage silk flowers, there are a number of options, and because each piece is relatively small, it can be placed in different hairstyles with as few or many pins as necessary. We’re already styling summer outfits that involve these pretty accessories pinned in loose buns, or used to sweep our hair to the side.

Today’s outfit is brought to you by the colour blush. And lace. And because I was feeling inspired and had the perfect threesome of outfits, today is a three-in-one instalment. Lucky you!

Blush, crochet, lace and florals.

Ever since Kayla posted these images from the I Love Wildfox blog a little while ago, I’ve been meaning to try an outfit post done in that style, so when I received a few new pieces from LA brand Flying Tomato and local designer ScarfParty the other day, it seemed like the perfect excuse. It was a little bit of a challenge at first, since I don’t have a figure to work with I had to get creative with layout, and it’s really about finding the right pieces to create a story. But when I got it just right, I was hooked! It brings back fond memories of collaging, and it was fun to work with a mini-theme and create a character. I picture today’s girl biking to grab an Americano, sitting in a sunny park to enjoy a few chapters of Valley of the Dolls (a favourite read), and exploring the city with her Diana Mini. Oh wait, maybe that’s just what I want to be doing right now! Le sigh.

This denim romper from Flying Tomato might just be the perfect summer layering piece.

New ScarfParty circle scarf in a beautiful ivory lace. Love the scalloped edge.

Flying Tomato floral cardigan with crochet overlay. And a flower pin, an essential spring accessory.

One Teaspoon ivory lace bralette and a must-read.

Vintage purse, classic sunnies and the perfect pocket companion to document the day

Today’s outfit is brought to you by a few of our favourite spring details: florals, open knits and pleating. I was so excited to be able to have the shop door open all day today, and it got me thinking about how I could wear some of the pieces in the shop right now without having to wait for the temperatures to rise. This outfit is made up of pieces that can worn into the warmer months, but also layered to wear now.

Neutral hues and a variety of layered textures.

Military details and a little gold embellishment.

Open weave knits and longer silhouettes.

Tiny florals offset the cargo jacket and an antique link necklace is a subtle accessory.

Sheer pleats create a perfect, flowing movement. Loving maxi's!

Here it is, the second last day of the lookbook instalments. Rosy hues, floral prints and big hearts.
