It’s no secret that we love our arm and neck candy at Bicyclette, and thanks to Lauren Elan Collections, we’re able to fulfill our sparkly desires on a regular basis.

“Lauren Elan celebrates a love for fashionable living, whether it is with a statement necklace, a multicolour cuff, or a fine cord bracelet. An appreciation for designer brands, creative styling, reasonable pricing, and well-made products has inspired the collection of necklaces and bracelets that are made up of eclectic looks and quality materials”

With the new Fall collection recently launched and a newly redesigned site to accompany it, it seemed like the perfect time to tease ourselves with a few new favourites. We’re currently gravitating towards mixed metals that have a cross between the masculine and feminine, a hint of sparkle (no surprise there), and offer the option to be layered with as many or as few pieces as you choose.

Up tomorrow? Our favourite wrist embellishments.

It’s come to my attention that in yesterday’s BlogTO article, there were a few people who were wishing there were pictures of the specific items Robyn was talking about in the write-up, especially the One Teaspoon dress. So I thought I would take this opportunity to snap a few photos of the items and designers that were mentioned, as a sort of “companion” post to the article.

If there are any other requests for pieces or details you want to see, just ask, and I would be happy to share.

One Teaspoon Kiss of Death Dress. Hand sewn pearl bodice, and unfinished, tutu-esque skirt. Stunning.

Layered necklaces by Lauren Elan Collections. Mixed metals and dangling sparkle.

'Abbey' by Lauren Elan Collections, a Bicyclette favourite with its tangled composition and rock-meets-romance statement.

Hand-dyed silk scarf by DENJ, in the most vibrant colour combinations. The perfect way to infuse a little tie-dye brightness into any ensemble.

This spring, it’s all in the details, and we’re loving everything that has that little bit of extra embellishment. Lace and silk are a few of our fabrics of choice, and anything feminine tickles our fancy. I thought we would share some our favourite close-ups of the new styles we’ll be shooting this week.

I know the blog has been a little One Teaspoon heavy this week, but we’re pulling a lot of inspiration from the line lately and are really excited to start offering the Spring collection. Any day now, folks. Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast, always a source of style inspiration and gorgeous photographic eye candy, posted a few photos of her wearing a beaded dress from the line, proclaiming her love of the line and the warrior princess vibe of this particular dress. We’ll be receiving the same dress in a gorgeous ivory colour, and can’t wait to play with the whimsical-meets-warrior style. Now, if only the weather would cooperate.

I can’t believe we’re only 10 days away from the pop-up shop opening, a fact that inspires both excitement and a certain amount of “there’s so much still to do!” I’m trying to get caught up on the daily business necessities so that I can fully focus on getting ready for the shop, but there’s always something else to do and I’m finding it hard to get ahead. Le sigh. My next to-do is the marketing and promo materials, so that I can start spreading the word and sharing all the details. One step at a time.

In other news, two pieces from Bicyclette were recently featured on A Haute Mess, a Vancouver style blog, and I just had to share. Niki is a PR girl with a stylish knack for mixing vintage with new and a love for anything embellished. Seeing as Bicyclette shares this love, it’s a match made in heaven, really.

Below, Niki is wearing the Embellished Cardigan, perfectly paired with vintage leather shorts. To see what other Bicyclette item appears on A Haute Mess, I would suggest wandering over to the blog here. I can’t give it all away at once!

I love prints and embellishment. So when I came across Motel, I was automatically drawn to their bold graphics, intricate detailing and simple shapes. Specializing in dresses with simple silhouettes that hug you in all the right places and play with proportions, they have a cohesive collection that presents pieces that are perfect for layering and adding that ‘je ne sais quoi’ to any outfit. These are statement pieces, not for the timid.
