The prospect of transitioning wardrobes is starting to excite me. Not fully overturning closets, but slowly starting to incorporate light layers and darker colours.
Today Audrey is wearing a few new pieces that have just hit the studio: A Trash & Luxury paper-thin tee, Dolce Vita allover studded skirt with full front zipper, and Central Park West draped sweater with zipper trim. These are a few of my favourite things, with tough-girl hardware details and a focus on embellishments and accents. Je t’aime.
Like? Love? Think it’s way too early to be thinking about Fall clothes and layering?
Thought I would do something a little selfish and do a public opinion post, focusing on shoes, which I’m officially entitling ‘ This vs. That’ . I figure it’s also somewhat relevant to Bicyclette, as my shoes usually end of being part of the photo shoots.
So I’m trying to decide between the two styles below. They’re somewhat similar, as both are black and have wedge heels, but different enough that it’s making my choice difficult. The Dolce Vita’s are pebbled leather, have a covered wedge heel, criss cross straps, and overall are a little more wearable. The Jeffrey Campbell’s are suede, have a platform wedge heel and bear a strong resemblance to the Dolce & Gabbana pair that Rumi from Fashion Toast often wears, which I love.
And that’s where I need your help – what are your thoughts and what do you like better? Leave it in the comments!
The chalkboard wall is done! And to christen the wall, what better way than to display the new Dolce Vita Christian Dress in front of it? I didn’t have much time to get too fancy with it, but this gives you an idea of how I’m thinking of using it in the future. So fun!
This dress is the perfect example of a piece that is extremely easy to wear and fabulous on. Trust me, I tried it on as soon as it was unpacked, marvelling at the simple, comfy sexiness of it. (This is where having 24/7 access to a “store” full of clothes gets dangerous). The softest silk, just right neckline, and bejewelled neckline? Perfection.
This post is somewhat selfish. My “brand” spotlight is on Needsupply, which isn’t exactly a brand but an online store that I frequently window shop and can always count on for at least a few covetable pieces. As we’ve been teased these past few days with sunshine and higher temperatures, it’s hard not to think ahead to summer and start planning out new purchases and outfit options.
This nude colour is perfect for accessorizing with bolder pieces , and the semi-sheer, breezy material lends itself to summer layering with ease. I love how they’ve styled it: open on the bottom over a tank dress.
I love the details of this dress: the coral colour, the small graphic print, the peplum skirt, ruching and exposed zipper. Oh, and the fact that I’ll be carrying the Dolce Vita clothing line very soon, and this is just a small sampling of amazing styles.
This vest, made from recycled mens denim, has the perfect amount of military inspired detailing and the slight acid wash has summer written all over it. I’m picturing it styled with floaty summer dresses, giving them a little more structure and edge.
I love the fact that this is white. Always a fan of studding, I think this is a great way to carry it into summer without it being too heavy, and the flat studs are a little softer. The drawstring shape is great as well. Hmmm, might there be another studding DIY in my future?
These earrings are amazing, and I don’t think they need much explanation. Bold but not heavy, the perfect opalescent sea green and the vintage detailing make these the perfect topper.
Oh dear. Must. Refrain.
