Wildfox never ceases to impress us with their creativity and imagination, and their new pre-fall collection, Magical Creatures, is no exception.

Magical Creatures is a story written for Wildfox by critically acclaimed author, Francesca Lia Block. Francesca has been an inspiration for Wildfox creators, Emily Faulstich and Kimberley Gordon, since before the birth of Wildfox in 2007. Together Francesca, Emily and Kim have based a collection of dreamy T shirts on the story of 3 very different, magical girls who live in our favorite Wildfox cities – Ella, a fairy from Los Angeles, Cherie, a gypsy from Paris, and Dahlia, a witch from New York. Francesca tells a story of these three girls and their important friendship, a metaphorical weaving of magic and mystery, beautiful clothes, and romantic back drops.

Another exciting week in the deliveries department, with a huge order from Amsterdam line Maison Scotch that just arrived on our doorstep. Our favourite thing in the box? Neon lace bralettes and bandeaus, which are quite possibly the perfect summer accessory. Think layered under sheer blouses, peeking out under low cut necklines, and adding that perfect pop of colour to any ensemble.

After posting about Wildfox’s new summer lookbook yesterday, today we have images of new pieces that we’ve received in the shop as part of our first spring delivery. With a touch of pastel and a nod towards the wild west, we’ve fallen hard for the simple graphic tees and ethereal knits from the White Label collection.

She is the brave designer and business woman who brought new wave and punk into the main stream fashion world and that is why this week she is our muse. Just her name reminds me to be daring and let my clothing reflect my personality and style without any need to conform. Her current mixture of punk and romance is just the kind of juxtaposition we love to play with while styling pieces at Bicyclette. The contrast makes for more unique and personal combinations. She is so much fun! We love you Vivienne.

Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and if anything, we’re using it as the perfect excuse to add a dash of sparkle and an extra heart or too into our lives. We styled a new window on Friday (which we’ll share soon) and are shooting another mini lookbook this week, so we’re currently all about gathering worthy inspiration.

Ban.do‘s lookbook is pretty much perfect, which is fitting considering their dedication to all things feminine and whimsical and the heart motif that finds itself on many of their pieces.

As all of you know we love our Wildfox here at Bicyclette so there is no surprise in picking Wildfox co-creator Kimberley Gordon as our muse this week. She is an artist, photographer, designer, dreamer and daily inspiration for us as she has such unique perspective on the world around her. Her blog ilovewildfox is dedicated to inspiring other artists ’create, learn, photograph, paint, design, party, dress up, and be happy’. When you are having one of those days, her blogs constant supply of images and ideas can be just what you need to put a little pep in your step. Plus she is responsible for all of our favourite and most comfortable t-shirts and for that we cannot adore her enough!

After posting about Brigitte Bardot last week we’ve decided to add a regular ‘Monday Muse’ post each week to celebrate women who inspire us. Who better to start off this tradition than the wonderful Jackie Kennedy! She effortlessly mixes her innate grace and beauty with daring and fun pieces that are now both iconic and celebrated worldwide. Most famously she is known for her strawberry pink Chanel suit, the one she wore on the day of her husbands death, which is now regarded as one of the most legendary articles of clothing in America history.
