I have a special relationship with Biko, as it was one of the first lines I picked up when I first started Bicyclette, and Corrine and I essentially met online, when she emailed me after finding the blog. Our friendship grew from there, both on a personal and business level, and it’s one that I value very highly. Beyond that, I have a love affair with each and every Biko piece, and as my personal collection grows with each season, so does my wishlist.

The Spring ’11 collection launched a little while ago, so I’m slightly late on the post, but it seemed a fitting time, since the new Biko site and online shop launched yesterday, and it looks pretty fantastic.

The tagline of the line pretty much says it all, “modern nostalgia”, and I love the juxtaposition of each collection: “Boldness vs. sleek simplicity, edge vs. femininity, gold vs. silver tones, and rock ’n’ roll glamour vs. a laid back bohemian sensibility.” They are some of my favourite pieces to merchandise and layer, and the Spring ’11 collection brings a whole new list of covet-worthy pieces.
